Keyes Insurance opened its doors in 1926 with owner Joe Keyes offering life insurance to Gananoque area residents.  The business expanded to include general insurance by 1932.

Ken Keyes joined his father in 1946 and expanded the company's offerings during the 1960s to include real estate.
